Circle B Bar Reserve
Last week I made another trip to Lakeland, Florida to "house sit" for my brother Bill and his wife Rhonda. While always glad to help them out, I always enjoy photographing the animals, birds, and landscape opportunities there. When you live in a big city like Atlanta it is so difficult to find challenging but interesting bird sites to photograph. In Lakeland it is refreshing to be able to get up and drive 4 miles and find yourself in some serious bird territory. http://www.polk-county.net/subpage.aspx?menu_id=52&nav=res&id=6040 The land is owned by the county and is dotted with water sites in sizes from puddles to lakes. The current season is when the nesting birds are everywhere. A nesting pair of owls and a pair of Great Blue Heron are currently being watched by many Circle B visitors. If you are in central Florida within the next two months you will find wonderful photo opportunity just about everywhere.
